Some people were born to blog. They simply waited around and ripened until blogging was born and then, bam! The fabulous blogging just pours out of them.
Country Mouse is such a person. To miss her blog at sugarjet.blogspot.com is to be deprived of a charmingly self-deprecating blog-voice, interwoven with pics from Country Mouse's world, a world filled with art and craft made by Country Mouse herself and many of her artisan friends and family. She's a source of inspiration for me, and hopefully for you, too if you need, like or want inspiration. I certainly do.
My LATEST source of inspiration has been Judaic art, specifically the ancient HAMSA symbol (see pic, above). The hamsa is the hand which wards off evil. It's often illustrated with an eye in the palm. The hebrew letter "shin, " which looks kind of like an upside down pitchfork, is also often seen on the palm of a Hamsa. I went on a hamsa craze the last few months, collecting charms, shirts and wall-hangings and even a bumper sticker with the hamsa symbol. This is pretty typical when I'm working on a new design.

My shout out goes to you Jennifer Jellie Joolz. You are the inspiration. Like your passionate research on Hamsa - a true artist gets obsessed with their next piece and it's fascinating to hear about your process. Without you I'd just be writing over-long emails. Eternal thanks for getting me off my large, naturally padded behind!
